RACER GROUPS
CrossCars – 12000rpm capable, GSXR 750cc, 6 Speed Sequential Gearbox, Rear Wheel Drive, Electric Reverse Gear, 2 Way Adjustable Dampers.
Rally 2 – Front or rear wheel drive, light weight rally cars. For example: BDA Escorts, Mazda RX7 Rotary @ 2-250hp
Rally 4 – Four-wheel drive turbocharged rally cars. For example Toyota Yaris, Hyundai, Ford Fiesta, restricted @ 325hp
Rally X – Four-wheel Drive lightweight monsters, no restrictions. For example: Toyota, Mitsubishi, V8’s Open / Unlimited @ 400-700hp
CLASS 9 – Manufacturer Class. Must look like the model road car it is based on. All modifications allow (within the rules) – See ORANZ Class 9 Rules .
CLASS 1 & 9 – Unlimited engine displacement. Unlimited modification. Transaxle, 2wd, Tube frame, Offroaders. Also Baja Bugs/Cars – Unlimited horsepower. Unlimited modification. Must closely resemble production vehicle model.
CLASS 3 – Limited engine displacement of 1650cc. Unlimited engine modification. Transaxle, 2wd, Tube frame, Offroader.
CLASS 5 – Limited engine displacement of 1332cc. Unlimited engine modification. Any Transaxle, 2wd, Tube frame, Offroader.
CLASS C – Standard aircooled VW 1600cc engine. No engine modifications. Early VW Transaxle, Standard VW front suspension. 2wd, Tube frame, Offroader.
CLASS 7 – Engine with displacement of up to 1200cc. No engine modifications. Early VW Transaxle, Standard VW front suspension. 2wd, Tube frame, Offroader.
CLASS J – Limited horsepower. Limited modification. Lawnmower engines in full spaceframe suspended Kart. Entry Level “Kids” Class
CLASS M – Same frame, suspension and body as Kiwitrucks, but with more horespower (250cc) and sequential gearbox.
Please Note: Mixed Classes will be handicapped during Heat races to provide close final laps between differing Classes in Group. Group make-up may be adjusted on the day to maintain racer numbers on the track. For complete and authorised descriptions of all Classes described above, please refer the the ORANZ Rulebook.
